William is a family GP who started to get his patients more active by setting up the first Health Walk scheme in April 1996. This led to him creating the Green Gym one year later as he realised that companionship and contact with nature were major driving forces in keeping people active.

His passion has led him to be a strategic health advisor to Natural England and set up health forecasts for the Met Office.

Whilst CEO of Intelligent Health, William still enjoys being a GP and manages to find some thinking time when running in green spaces.

Katherine has a wealth of senior level experience in sports marketing and PR. She was marketing director of a UEFA international football tournament, helped create ‘Game Changer’, the FA’s 5-year strategic plan for women’s football and was England Women’s Football media manager.

Having helped make Women’s football an important part of community life across Britain, Katherine’s set herself the new goal of placing Beat the Street at the very heart of communities across the world.

“I’ve loved sport and physical activity ever since I put on my first pair of football boots, aged eight. My life revolves around physical activity, whether it’s playing sport, running or playing with my children.”

Katherine combines her love of food and football by cooking dishes from competing nations during the World Cup. Her knowledge of Brazilian cuisine is now outstanding.

She has been delivering fantastic customer service for more than 20 years and combines her own ‘can do’ ethos with an in-depth knowledge of the health sector. Her staff development skills have also been key as the Intelligent Health team expands and moves forward.

Debbie runs on most days and has recently revisited her youth and started roller-skating again. Look out for her busting some moves at the roller disco some time soon.

She joins Intelligent Health with a wealth of experience managing teams from big-name brands such as Starbucks and Victoria’s Secret.

Cathy believes in a hands-on approach to affecting change, volunteering as a school governor and in her GP’s patient participation group.

In his spare time, Niall manages Alt Reading, a website which promotes arts and culture in Reading. He manages around 15 writers and around 20,000 people visit the website each month. He knows how to get people enjoying their community and the towns they live in!

Niall is passionate about building active communities and how Beat the Street helps change people’s attitudes towards how they view their area. He is a keen baseball fan (supporting the Toronto Blue Jays), enjoys swimming and likes to explore the beautiful Reading surroundings on foot.

Theo joined Intelligent Health after studying Economics at the University of Leicester. He worked in the IT team before a taking a short sabbatical to travel round the world. On his return, Theo saw that Intelligent Health had also gone global and rejoined to become a key member of the Administrative team, making sure the technical side of projects run without a hitch. He has now moved over to the Business Development team in Head Office.

We think he’s ace. So, too, do lots of budding tennis players who have benefited from his coaching (Theo is an LTA Level 2 qualified coach). “I have always found huge enjoyment playing and coaching tennis to all ages. It’s great for encouraging physical activity and bringing people together.”

Theo also plays local league football, watches his beloved Reading FC and goes skiing and snowboarding whenever he can. A sports fanatic and all round good sport.

He started his career as a Sports Technician at Edinburgh Napier University and then oversaw the launch and delivery of 2 brand new sport, fitness and wellbeing facilities at their Craiglockhart and Sighthill campuses. Craig has also worked for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Technogym UK, which has allowed him to gain new work-related experiences within healthcare, local authority leisure and national sport governing bodies.

Football is his sport and Craig has played for many years at a semi-professional level. He loves to see people achieve their personal health and fitness goals, and was proud to work at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow within the athlete’s village for Technogym.

With a strong academic background that includes a Masters degree in Health and Social Science Research Methods which is currently being strengthened by a PhD in the Sociology and Philosophy of Sport – Marc is able to expertly investigate the health, social, psychological and environmental benefits of all of our programmes.

Marc’s interest in physical activity is not just limited to research, undertaking weight resistance and cardiovascular exercise on a regular basis as well as passionately supporting Arsenal football club.

Intelligent Health is delighted welcome nature guru Natalie Ganpatsingh to the team as Nature Lead, to help Beat the Street participants to engage with their outdoor spaces.

She is a Philosophy graduate, artist and Forest School Leader and over the last 22 years she has worked as a community artist, a mural painter, theatre designer, expedition artist and illustrator. Concerned that children were spending less and less time playing outdoors she set up Nature Nurture CIC with the aim of increasing outdoor play and learning opportunities for children. She trained as a Forest School Leader and holds a PETLs qualification (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) and is trained to deliver the Arts Council’s Arts Award Explore & Discover programmes.

She is married with 2 children and enjoys yoga, canoeing, going to the theatre, camping and spending time with her family.

He has been a keen sportsman all his life, with particular interest in cricket and hockey. Now focused on tennis and golf, he is also active with running a few 10km races.
