“Beat the Street has had a huge impact in Merton. With a mighty 22,534 players taking part and getting active. Turning physical activity into an exciting game has helped players form positive healthy habits and spend time connecting with others.” – Chloe Allison, Engagement Coordinator
“My activity level is much higher now – my husband’s is similar as he is fitting it in amongst work commitments but enjoying it and the two boys have been walking more to hit Beat Boxes rather than using the car as much as we used to. They have complained less about the additional walking to school as it has been made fun/ into a game by going via Beat Boxes! We have really enjoyed playing this game together! My boys are desperate that their mummy tries to win or at least beat their school PE teacher. I have really got addicted and ignited my competitive side in sport!” – Gillian Wood
The game has also helped players actively explore Merton and make beautiful new discoveries in their community.
“I have also made amazing discoveries by following new routes; despite having lived in my area for over 10 years I was able to find new buildings such as the Hindu temple at Haydons Road, which took my breath away. ” – Kate Kayuda
