Energise Me, the Active Partnership for Hampshire and Isle of Wight, have partnered with Hampshire County Council to invest in a Physical Activity Clinical Champion, a strategically positioned role embedded within NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight. This newly established role is supported through an honorary contract with the NHS.
The shared investment provides a unique opportunity to begin embedding cultural and clinical change from within the NHS.
Becky Gould has been appointed into the role. She is a Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant, has previously worked as a GP, and has been involved in the development of several Moving Medicine resources, as well as speaking nationally and internationally on the role of physical activity in long-term health conditions.
Becky will focus on training, upskilling, and supporting healthcare professionals to make physical activity a consistent part of patient care conversations.
Becky is passionate about the role of physical activity in the prevention and management of long-term conditions. She is excited to have the opportunity to support other healthcare professionals to have physical activity conversations in her local community.
She makes the most of our beautiful countryside to stay active and enjoys walking, cycling and surfing.
We look forward to learning more about Hampshire and Isle of Wight’s PACC journey over this next year!
