Intelligent Health have been shortlisted as finalists for two awards in this year’s Thames Valley Venus Awards.

The Venus Awards are regional awards that aim to recognise and celebrate women in business. Katherine Knight — Marketing Director for Intelligent Health — has been shortlisted for Influential Woman of the Year, and Intelligent Health has been named as a finalist for Employer of the Year.

Intelligent Health has helped thousands of women get active through its Beat the Street physical activity initiative — 300,000 people took part in the programme in 2017, with 71% of adult registrations being women. Additionally, Intelligent Health is an equal pay employer with more than 58% of staff being female and five out of the eight management team members are women.

Katherine Knight, Marketing Director for Intelligent Health said: “To be a finalist in Employer of the year for the Thames Valley is an honour as this area is jam-packed with exciting, dynamic businesses. We set ourselves the challenge to be a company where our staff are valued and share the vision of building active communities. It is great to see that this has been acknowledged with this finalist spot. People are our business and everyone who works at Intelligent Health is really helping to make a difference.

“I am also thrilled to be shortlisted as Influential Woman of the Year along with the other finalists. I’ve seen huge strides made in equality over the last twenty years and from working in women’s football to now helping women get active and healthy when it suits them I have always worked to create a more level playing field. We still have a long way to go but awards like this really help keep the spotlight on the issue.”

Tara Howard, founder of the Venus Awards, said: “We received more than 1,000 nominations and applications for the 15 award categories, which highlights the huge contribution that women in business are making to businesses in the Thames Valley Region”.

The winners of this year’s Thames Valley Venus Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony on 8 June at the Madejski Stadium in Reading. If successful, Intelligent Health will then be entered into the National Finals of the Venus Awards.
