Intelligent Health and its CEO and Founder, Dr William Bird, have been announced in this year’s UK Active awards which celebrate the leading figures and organisations in the sports and physical activity sector.
The awards, which have replaced the Flame Awards as the industry’s most prestigious accolades, will take place at Active Uprising conference in Manchester on the evening of 21 June.
Intelligent Health are nominated in the Healthy Communities category alongside Places for People Leisure, Active Tameside, MAN v FAT Football, 1Life, West Ham United Foundation, Every Active and Everyone Health.
Dr William Bird is shortlisted for Outstanding Leader of the Year with Jan Spatticchia, Sue Anstiss MBE, Malcolm McPhail, Stuart Martin, Dave Candler, Oliver Stacey and Justin Musgrove.
In 2016, Intelligent Health were nominated for four UK Active awards and were ultimately winners of three categories including Healthy Partnerships, Physical Activity Campaign of the Year and Spirit of Innovation.
Dr William Bird said: “In the last two years Intelligent Health has continued to develop and expand our Beat the Street walking and cycling initiative as well as launching new social prescription, consultancy and health forecasting services. It is fantastic to be recognised by UK Active for our work to build active communities across the world.
“Additionally, it is a huge honour to be named as a finalist for Outstanding Leader of the Year. Encouraging people to get outside and get moving has been my passion for over two decades and it is amazing to be highlighted among so many talented people in the physical activity industry.”
