Gemma McDonald – Beat the Street Head of Programmes
We’re delighted to welcome Gemma to the Intelligent Health team as our new Head of Programmes for Beat the Street! Gemma joins us with a wealth of experience and will be covering for Jenny while she is on maternity leave.
With over 20 years of experience leading frontline teams and transformational projects across both the public and private sectors, Gemma brings a deep understanding of engagement, service improvement, and policy development. Her passion lies in helping those for whom systems fail; removing barriers and driving meaningful change.
Gemma is no stranger to Beat the Street. In 2018, she worked as an Engagement Coordinator for the Poole and Purbeck game in Dorset, helping to connect communities through active travel. Most recently, she was Head of Programmes at Engage Britain, where she led a two-year project using participatory democracy methods to develop people-powered policies on health and social care.
Her background also includes working as a Business Partner for Children’s Services in the NHS, where she played a crucial role in service improvements, bridging the gap between clinical teams and local commissioners to enhance service delivery.
We’re thrilled to have Gemma on board and look forward to seeing her drive Beat the Street forward. So please join us in giving her a warm welcome!
Welcome to the team, Gemma!
